
Andrew C. Macko, Sr., age 88, of 110 Fredonia Road, Hempfield Twp., passed away Monday evening, July 3, 2017 in the Grove At Greenville following an extended illness.
He was born in Greenville on January 26, 1929 to Daniel Macko, Sr. and Mildred J. (Kastan) Macko. He was a graduate of St. Michael High School and had attended Thiel College. From 1945-1986, Andy was employed as a Senior Industrial Engineer at the Bessemer & Lake Erie R.R. He served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean War.
Andy truly loved his farm, attending flea markets and yard sales, trips to the casino to play the slots and spending time with his grandchildren.
On January 27, 1973, he married the former Flora Mae Brannon, she survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Candance Baskin of Greenville and Lorie Bowman and her husband Tod, of West Point, VA; a son, Ted Krueger of Greenville; a sister, Cecelia Fuchs and her husband Ralph of Greenville, a brother, George Macko and his wife Becky of Greenville, grandchildren; Angel and Eric Cordle and their children Landon and Cason of Virginia and Chantel and Jim Kaller and their children Brenda and Jared of Greenville, as well as many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Andrew C. Macko, Jr., a daughter, Judy Uber, a son-in-law, William “Buck” Baskin; three brothers, Daniel Macko, Joe Macko, and Johnney Macko and two sisters, Anna May and Mary Trimmer.
A private memorial service will be held in Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S Main St. Greenville, with Rev. Keith Troyer, Pastor of Grace Baptist Church, Greenville, officiating. Greenville V.F.W. Post #3374 will render military honors at the conclusion of the service. Inurnment will be in St. Michael Cemetery.

Candy, We are sorry to hear about your Dad. Ed thought of him as his Dad as Andy did soooooo much for him. He helped Ed have a safe place to live. Your family was more a family than his own. Ed truly loved him as a father.
