Betty “Mac” McCormick, age 101, of Jamestown passed away Thursday afternoon, October 20, 2022 in her residence.

She was born in Richeyville, PA on September 29, 1921 a daughter of Robert and Ida (Hatch) McCombs. In December of 1939 Betty married Ralph William McCormick, he passed away in May of 1968. She was previously employed on the River Boat where she was a cook, was the activities director at St. Paul's Senior Living Community, was a 911 dispatcher for Crawford County, and was a clerk at Pymatuning State Park for 48 years, retiring in March of 2022. She was a member of Jamestown Presbyterian Church, Brownville Hospital Auxiliary, and Jamestown Auxiliary. Betty was a life member of Jamestown Fire Department #89 and enjoyed crocheting.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Volosin and her husband Dave of Jamestown, Nancy Cyphert and her husband Ken of Apollo, PA; two brothers, TC McCombs and Tommy McCombs; two grandsons, Eric Cyphert and his wife Amanda and William Volosin; six great grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son Ralph Dale McCormick, a granddaughter Wendy Jo Davis and five brothers and sisters.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday October 30, 2022 in Jamestown Presbyterian Church 411 Liberty St., Jamestown. Inurnment will be in Park Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Jamestown Presbyterian Church, 411 Liberty St., Jamestown, PA 16134 or Jamestown Fire Department, 208 Depot St., Jamestown, PA 16134. Arrangements have been entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Randall Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 416 Liberty St., Jamestown.

    I loved talking to Betty at the pymatuning camp registration every summer.. she was always very nice and accommodating while staying there. We missed seeing her this summer, she will be missed. My deepest sympathy to her family.

    So sorry to hear of Betty’s passing. We got to know her at Jamestown Pymatuning campground! She was indeed a beautiful soul. Eternal memories! RIP!

    Sorry for your loss Linda and Dave Billy she was a wonderful person and I enjoyed my time with her and the family she will be well missed by many she was a wonderful lady to know for so long and working with her and Wendy at the boathouse and camp store at the new beach.     As a long time campground host I so enjoyed spending many evenings standing outside the checkin booth talking to Betty. So many wonderful stories. She was such an interesting and caring person and she loved Pymatuning. I miss those evening talks. Rest In Peace Betty you have earned it.

    She was always the friendly face at Jamestown campground! We started camping there in 1976! My kids adored her! Was always Brad a beautiful smile and a big smile, even if the person she had just checked in wasn’t the most pleasant! Her family are in my prayers!!

    I haven’t seen Aunt Betty in many years, but what I can remember is what a beautiful smile she had, and what a spit fire she was.

    We have so many good memories of Betty at Pymatuning Start Park while we were camp hosting. She had the most beautiful and contagious smile. We feel blessed to have known her and call her our friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

    Betty was such a blessing . Every year we would camp at least a month at the park. We would always look forward to seeing her there…would live when she came to the Restraunt a few times this Summer.. We want to bless her family at this time with the peace and comfort that only God above can give…..
