Betty C. Neiman, age 87, of Greenville, passed away Monday morning September 11, 2017 in St. Paul's.
She was born in Adamsville, PA on April 22, 1930 to Clarence and Grace (Plyler) Nottingham. Betty attended Fallowfield Schools and was of the Presbyterian Faith. She loved spending time with her family and had spent most of her adult life working as a cook at restaurants around Greenville, including the Stone Arch, The Iron Kettle and Dickson's Restaurant. She was well known for her chicken pies, potato soup and homemade fruit pies. She always cooked with perfection and love.
Betty was an enthusiastic seasonal canner and her pantry was always full. She enjoyed many trips with family to their cabin, where she always brought her favorite dishes. Betty was a wiz at crossword puzzles and other word games and she will be remembered for her cunning card playing skills. She also loved playing shanghai and poker.
On November 24, 1962 she married Merle “Sonny” Neiman, he passed away on December 29, 2007.
Survivors include four daughters; Patrice Halsey and her husband Denny of Townville, Kate Mailliard and her husband Mike of Dayton, TN, Jeanette Curry and her husband Rich of Meadville and Roberta Richardson and her husband Dan of Myrtle Beach, SC, three sons; James Morian and his partner Dianna of Valrico, FL, Rubin Neiman and his wife Vickie of Boonsboro, MD and David Neiman and his wife Karen of Perry, OH, twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a former husband; Leo Morian, a grandson; James Morian, a brother; Loring Nottingham and two sisters; Pauline Osborn and Eleanor Davis.

Today and always, may loving memories bring you peace, comfort, and strength.
My sympathy to the family, what wonderful memories you have in your hearts to remember your loved one with. Cherish her memories and let them live on.
Cherish memories of a feisty, fun mother who loved and treasured you all very much.

I worked with Betty at both the Iron Kettle and Stone Arch. She taught me so much about how to cook with perfection. She was a feisty lady and had such sense of humor. I had been thinking about her recently and was sad to hear of her passing. I will fondly remember her impact in my life.
