Betty L. Suddoth, age 84, formerly of Lebanon Avenue, Greenville, passed away Saturday afternoon, November 26, 2016 in St. Paul's.

Mrs. Suddoth was born in Kittanning, PA on February 13, 1932 daughter of Lewis and Dolly (Bargerstock) May.  Betty was employed in the cafeteria of the Greenville Area School District for 30 years.  She truly enjoyed spending time with her family and going to yard sales. Her home is a better place due to her having been in it and she ruled the kitchen and in her younger years, single handedly preparing everything.  She transformed her house into a gathering place for holidays that nurtured five generations of family and friends.  Betty lived for her husband, the love of her life, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Many summer weekends and vacations were spent traveling with two cherished friends, especially to music festivals.

She married William H. Suddoth on December 28, 1951, he survives.  She is also survived by three daughters; Casandra “Sandy” Boliver and her husband John, Pamela Rodawalt and her husband Donald, and Susan Smith, two sons; William L. Suddoth and his wife Mary Liz and Gregg T. Suddoth, eleven grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Our class of 1977 sentiments go out to Pam (Suddoth) Rodawalt and her family on the passing of their mom, Betty L. Suddoth, age 84. Of those years, 55 were spent providing a wonderful home of nurture & love to a good husband, 5 children, 11 grand kids and 20 great little ones….as well as a wonderful welcoming place for all family & friends. Cherish those memories, Pam. Your mom loved music and traveling and yard sales. She always put people first. Sounds like a great message to us all — live your life with a passion for what is dear to your heart. Keep it simple. Just follow your path and, “sing your song” …whatever it may be. : ) <3

I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers and love go out to the family. Through the years I have remembered the love and kindness that Mrs. Suddoth showed me as a child growing up across the street from her home. All the nights she let me stay all night and babysat me and all the days she included me in her family’s activities. I remember baking in the kitchen with her, Pam and Sue. I will treasure those memories forever. My deepest condolences to all of the family.
