Charles Robert “Bob” Pearce, age 89, of Progress St., Hempfield Twp., passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 25, 2018 in St. Paul's.
He was born in Slippery Rock, PA on July 24, 1928 to Charles A. and Gladys Irene (Stevenson) Pearce. Bob was a 1946 graduate of Penn High School and served in the U.S. Army as a Sargent in the 441st CIC from 1946-1947. He was employed for 35 years as a shipping clerk at the former Chicago Bridge & Iron in Greenville, retiring in 1983.
Bob enjoyed his new riding lawn mower and taking care of his small garden. On July 24, 1953 he married the former Doris Marlyn Henry, she survives at home.
Also surviving are two children, a daughter, Janet Lawrence of Brookville, PA and a son, Richard A. Pearce and his wife Victoria of Greenville; a brother, James L. Pearce and his wife Doris of Mantua, OH and a granddaughter, Lindsey Pearce.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Betty Lyon and Virginia Palmer and a brother, Joseph Pearce.
