
Cheryl E. Emmett, age 64, of Linesville, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2022 in UPMC Hamot.
She was born in West Virginia on August 27, 1957 a daughter of James R. Sowers and Barbara (Weston) Wolford. She was a graduate of Reynolds High School and was previously employed as a lumber broker at Tilden Hardwoods. She was a member of Zion's Reformed United Church of Christ. She enjoyed trips to the casino, traveling, attending flea markets, and spending time with family. Cheryl retired from the BLE/CN Railroad.
She is survived by her fiance, Mark Lasher of Linesville; four sisters, Barb Bookwalter and her husband Don of Mercer, Tammy Reed and her husband Dave of Fairport, NY, Pam Sykola and her husband Sam of Naples, FL, Jamie Nelson and her husband Greg of Cary, NC; two brothers, Daniel Hardesty and his fiance Shelly of Franklin, Randy Hardesty and his wife Laurie of Jackson Center; a niece and nephew who were like her children Amandia Covert and Robert Covert; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her mother Barbara Wolford, father and step-mother James and Barbara Sowers, and a sister Cindy Covert.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, March 14, 2022 from 4:00-7:00pm in Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St., Greenville. Burial will be in Shenango Valley Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Strayhaven Animal Shelter, 94 Donation Rd., Greenville, PA 16125.

I went to school with Cheryl and she was the kindest girl in the school…very light hearted and would volunteer for anything going on. She was full of life and fun. I will miss her but I know she’s in good hands now with the Lord. My condolences to her family.

I met Cheryl several decades past when I wed her first cousin: David. Always a pleasure to be in her-company. And I am so grateful for Cheryl’s constant effort to to live and love. I am so grateful we had each other to share our grief journeys, support each other on this thing called life .
You always made the effort to get together for vacations whenever we could.even though we lived so far away in Fl.;
in my mind and heart tonight and every-night as say my prayers: I will miss my friend. Until we meet again!
