Clinton E. Appleby, age 91, of 339 E. Jamestown Rd., W. Salem Twp., formerly of Allison Park and Saxonburg, PA, passed away Friday morning, February 17, 2017 in St. Paul's. 

He was born in Providence, RI on October 2, 1925 to Urban S. and Mildred (Robbins) Appleby.  He was a 1938 graduate of N. Attleborough High School, N. Attleborough, Mass.  In 1988 he retired from Koppers Co. Inc., Pittsburgh, after 33 years of employment as the Asst. Manager of Traffic and Transportation Services.  Clinton was a former member of First Presbyterian Church, Greenville and a former member of Parkwood United Presbyterian Church, Allison Park where he served as an Elder, Deacon and also sang in the choir.  He was a lifetime member of Aurora Lodge #12 I.O.O.F, N. Attleborough, Mass., Quinshepaug Encampment I.O.O.F, Midway, Mass., Esther Rebekah Lodge, N. Attleborough, Mass., The Traffic Club of Pittsburgh, Traffic and Transportation Assoc. of Pittsburgh, Greenville Kiwanis Club, Greenville Lions Club and had been a past volunteer at Harmonville Rehab Center and St. Paul's. 

On June 27, 1953 he married the former Louise Blaikie, she passed away November 16, 1980, he then married Nancy I. Schwartz on December 26, 1985, she survives in Greenville.  Also surviving are three daughters, Debra Galvin of Lititz, PA, Jane Kelley of Tampa, FL, Pamela Wright of Leesburg, VA; two step-daughters, Dr. Kathleen A. Norris of Portland, ME, Susan B. Norris of Harrisburg, PA; a step-son, Richard S. Norris of Harmony, PA; a brother, Walter Appleby of Summerville, SC, ten grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, a daughter, Bonnie Jean Appleby, a sister, Lillian Ryan, a brother, Arthur Appleby and a grandson, Nicholas Wright.

Private burial will be held next week in Mt. Royal Memorial Park, Pittsburgh.  A public memorial service will be planned at St. Paul's with time and date to be determined. 

The family asks that memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's 339 E. Jamestown Rd. Greenville, PA 16125.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St., Greenville.
