My most sincere condolences for your loss. I left town before I got to know many of my cousins but I remember Dan and his beer can chicken at the family reunions! Thoughts and prayers to all!!
Our condolences to you and his family, Dan was a member of our household when he was married to my sister, he did always have a smile and full of jokes. I have a fond memory of a Christmas Eve he said he couldn’t meet us at Pizza Hut. When we returned home he was laying on my couch, pretending to be sleeping, we all noticed under the tree were gifts, hmmm, they work duct taped, stapled, and thumb taxed together. He picked out the most perfect gifts for everyone, although not so sure about the sling shot he got our young Don, but we laughed for many years and still remember that day. At that time in Dan’s life he did not celebrate Christmas.
He was a hoot for sure…he denied ever buying them at the True Value in Transfer. So many of those stories we’ve remembered over the years. He lived life hard, atleast at that time he did….R.I.P. DJ….
My favorite memory of, DJ, is when he took me out on the dance floor to dance to, Horse with No Name. Every time I hear that song I think of him. I’m so sorry, Diana and family. Sending lots of hugs and prayers.
Diana, Sorry to hear of your loss. Enjoyed our visits with you and DJ at your dad’s.
My sincere condolences to Diana and The Johnston family. I’ve known Dan for alot of years. So many wonderful memories, like when him and Steve came to visit us in N. Carolina and I had to rescue them from a toga party. Back In the hay day of the exhaust shop , he had me laughing everyday. I always looked up to him. He was larger than life. Such a big heart. Fly high with your sons DJ and be at peace.
Diana, I was so sorry to hear about DJ”s passing. I had only gotten to know both of you in the last few years, but I will always remember the big smiles on you both. You always made me feel welcome.
