Danny Michael Brennan, age 57, of Holiday Ln., Hempfield Twp., passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Sunday afternoon, June 26, 2016 in the ER of UPMC Horizon Greenville.Â
Mr. Brennan was born in Sharon, PA on May 3, 1959 to Ronald Patrick and Lois Ann (Scragg) Brennan. Dan was a 1977 graduate of Sharon High School and had received an Associate’s Degree from Youngstown State University. He had been employed as a Pennsylvania State Trooper for 25 years, retiring from the Mercer Barracks in March of 2012.Â
He was a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Greenville and was a member of Brady Paul Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 54, Butler. Dan loved planting all his flowers and working in his yard. He also enjoyed woodworking and building, especially Abby’s Little Library and James’ toys. Dan was a true family man and enjoyed spending time with them, especially the love of his life, his grandson, James. He adored all of his many nieces and nephews, as well as his granddogs, Bradley and Harvey.
On June 18, 1983 he married the former Susan Stepp, she survives at home. Also surviving is his daughter, Abby Power and her husband Gerald of Ashland, MA, a son, Andrew Brennan of Pittsburgh, a sister, Margaret Johnson and her husband Robert of Hermitage, a brother, Ronald Brennan and his wife Monica of Brookfield, OH, a grandson, James Rafael Power, and his father and mother-in-law, Charles and Lorraine Stepp of Greenville.Â
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Karen Brennan.
Memorial contributions may be made to Boston Children’s Hospital, 300 Longwood Ave., Boston, MA 02115.

My heart is heavy, Dan was such a wonderful, kind hearted and genuinely great man-just from the short time that I knew him. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
Dan was always a gentleman and kind soul. I lived in the caretakers house at St Rose Cemetery and after his father passed away he would meet his mother there to spend time at his grave side. Loved his family tremendously. God Speed and prayers to the entire Brennan family.
I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. I graduated from Sharon High with Danny. He will always be in my memory as a true gentleman. May God keep and protect you all as he embraces Danny into His Kingdom.

Sue I am driven to tears after watching the video…
To you and your beautiful family I am so very sorry for this unimaginable loss and feel so bad I cannot make a visit to hug you all. Dan was a tremendous person and a true gentleman. I can’t help by go back in time to when we worked together and you two met! :’) Only last week I was telling Joe how we used to ride our bikes all over the Valley “back in the day”! My thoughts and prayers are with you and I will be in contact soon. XO!

Again, Sue and family, so terribly sorry about Dan’s passing. I watched the beautiful tribute video, what an awesome adventurous alive man that loved and lived life. He is still alive but in the presence of Jesus right now. God bless you and your entire family, children, parents, his family, all loved ones who knew Dan. God loves you all. Words can not even express how Ron and I feel about Dan’s passing. He was such a great guy, always smiling and something good to say to everyone. Our hearts and prayers go out to you and your family.
I graduated from the PSP Academy with Danny. He was a great guy to be around. Seems like yesterday. So sad to hear of his passing. Rest in peace brother. Look down upon our brothers & sisters in law enforcement and keep them safe.
