Dorothy F. McDonald, age 96, of Park Ave., Greenville, passed away Wednesday evening, March 9, 2022 in her residence.
She was born in Barr Slope, PA on April 20, 1925 to Francis J. and Sarah F. (Mayausky) Goss. She was a 1943 graduate of Penn High School, received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Y.S.U. in 1966 and her Master's Degree in Education from Slippery Rock University in 1976. Dorothy was employed at Greenville Steel Car and Westinghouse Electric Corp. during WWII. She then worked as an Elementary Teacher for Reynolds School District, working at the former West Salem School and Transfer School, retiring in 1993. She was an active member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Greenville, where she had served as a CCD Teacher for fifty years and volunteered as a Substitute Teacher at St. Michael School. Dorothy was a member of Reynolds School District Retirees, she was an avid bingo player and she enjoyed road trips and traveling, outdoors and taking walks, roller skating in her younger years and spending time with her family.
On August 12, 1946 she married Thomas W. McDonald, Jr., he passed away November 2, 1989. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Henegan and her husband Joe of Jamestown, three sons, Thomas W. McDonald III and his fiance Deb Reigleman of Greenville, Mark McDonald of Greenville and Kevin McDonald and his wife Darlinda of Sharon, six grand children, Emily McDonald, Meghan McDonald, Nathan McDonald and his wife Kim, Carrie McDonald, Amy Henegan and her fiance Marty Cecire and Zachary Henegan, seven great-grandchildren and her grandchildren's friends that turned into family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Elaine McDonald, a granddaughter, Jennifer Allshouse, a great-granddaughter, Taryn Clover, a brother, Frank Goss, Jr.and two infant sisters, Margaret Goss and Irene Goss.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael School Endowment Fund, 85 N. High St., Greenville, PA 16125.

Elaine and I dated in High School and Mrs MAC, as I called her, was the kindest, sweetest lady I ever met. So much tragedy in her life. Now she is with Elaine and the rest. God bless her and all the family

Im so sorry to hear of your mom passing Tommy Mark Kevin and Mary. I have fond memories of her and many memories of the fun we all had as kids in the park by my grandparents DeBarrs house.

I am so very sorry for your loss! She was my teacher at Transfer Elementary then I reconnected with her through PHN green street office in Farrell. What a lovely lady she will be remembered as. Prayers to all of you during this difficult time.
