Edward A. Burnett, Jr., age 68, of Adamsville Rd., Jamestown, passed away Saturday evening, February 20, 2021 in his residence after a courageous 2 year battle with cancer.
He was born in Sharon on May 12, 1952 a son of Edward A. Burnett, Sr. and Beverly Jean (Shields) Burnett. He was a 1970 graduate of Reynolds High School and served his country in the United States Army Reserves for 6 years. On April 10, 1971 Ed married the former Myrna Peterson, she survives.
He was employed at Bessemer Railroad for 10 years and also worked for many different construction companies throughout the area. He attended Bethel Life Worship Center, Greenville. He was a member of Jamestown VFW Post #5424 and Jamestown Firemen's Club. Ed enjoyed hunting, camping, cutting wood, helping people, and most of all spending time with family.
In addition to his wife of almost 50 years, he is survived by a son, Edward A. Burnett III and his fiance Dawn of Farrell; a brother, Bill Burnett of Jamestown; three sisters, Debbie Smith of Jamestown, Linda Banic, and Bonnie Adams and her husband Jack; two grandchildren, Abby Burnett and Austin Burnett; two great grandchildren, Sophia Moore and Conner Moore.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son James “Jimmie” Burnett who passed away 12-4-2015, and a brother Kenny Burnett.

As the Apostle Paul wrote in the New Testament, “We are confident, yes, well pleased
rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.” Ed is now at home
with the Lord and even though we mourn his absence, we can rest in the hope of
Heaven.
I’m so sorry to hear about Eddie Myrna I enjoyed working with him all those years with the rhomack boys may God bless you in this time I know ed was a good man who loved his family he will be missed.
