Edward Scott (Ed) Jr. of Hempfield Township, passed away Monday evening May 6, 2019 peacefully with his wife at his side after a courageous battle with brain, and lung cancer, a direct result of being exposed to Agent Orange while serving his country in Thailand.

Ed was born on February 7, 1942 in Mount Holly, New Jersey to Edward and Isabelle Kirby Engle Scott. He graduated grammar school in Vincentown, N.J. and Rancocas Valley Regional High School in Mount Holly NJ in 1960. He was proud to be a fellow football player with Franco Harris and Lydel Mitchell. After graduation he joined the U. S. Navy, and attended boot camp and Hospital Corps school in San Diego, California then Marine Corps boot camp in Camp Pendleton, California. He was assigned to Okinawa, as a Navy medic in a Marine uniform then Thailand and finally 2 years in Hawaii with an honorable discharge. He attended Maryville College, Maryville, TN and Widner College, Chester PA.

For more than 20 years he worked in medical positions, serving as an EMT, supervising a medical health transport giving physicals and various testing for companies with government contracts. He then moved on to transportation as a driver, and finally retired as a trucking dispatcher in 2004.

Ed was a 55 year member of F & A Masons. He was a member of Pemberton Lodge #199, Pemberton, New Jersey, Eureka Lodge #290 Greenville. He belonged to Golden Triangle York Rite College, The Royal Order of Scotland. He held memberships in Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priest, Sharon Council #48 where he was Past Thrice Illustrious Master, Mt Calvary Commandry #67, where he served as Commander several times. Grand Council of Royal & Select Master Masons as Past District Deputy Grand Master, Mound Royal Arch Chapter Past High Priest. He also held membership in Consistory, Zem Zem Shrine, Red Cross of Constantine, Mercer County Shrine, Ed served as Grand Royal Patron in Order of Amaranth, also serving as Royal Patron in both Red Lion and Farrell Courts, White Shrine of Jeresalem as Watchman of Shepherds, Order of Eastern Star where he was Past Patron several times. He also was certified by AARP Tax Act to assist in doing yearly tx returns for seniors in Mercer County

As a type 2 diabetic, he spent countless years working with Amaranth in their Charity Projects raising funds for the Amaranth Diabetes Foundation. He also served as Treasurer for the Amaranth Diabetes Foundation as a part of Supreme Council Order of the Amaranth, Inc. In 2018 at Grand Court of Pennsylvania, he received the Unsung Hero Award from the American Diabetes Association for his efforts.

Surviving is his loving wife Debbie L. (Campbell McClowry) Scott, whom he married on August 23, 2004 at home and step-daughter Mandi McClowry of Orlando, FL. and his furry companion, TinkerBelle who spend many hours at his side to give him comfort. He is also survived by his sister, Abby Scott Cutright of Arcanum, Ohio, niece Karen Cutright Siegrist, husband John, children Jonathan, Sammy, and Haley, Union KY, nephew Daniel Cutright, wife Natalie and children Jackson, Madison and Ella, Centerville, Ohio and niece Becca (Rachel as he fondly called her) Cutright Kamer, husband Mike and children Liam, Olivia, Luka, and Owen Edward, Cincinnatti, Ohio. He was preceeded in death by his parents, and his brother-in-law Dr Norman (Doc) Cutright, and his late wife Sandi Bush Scott.
