Elsie J. Scofield, age 88, of Maple Drive, Hempfield Twp., passed away Sunday morning, June 25, 2017 in St. Paul's. 

She was born in Delaware Twp., Mercer County on July 10, 1928 to Albert and Irene (Koonce) Willaman.  She was a 1946 graduate of Fredonia High School as well a graduate of the former Sharon Business School.  Elsie retired from Integra Bank after more than 30 years in the banking industry.  She enjoyed training new employees and remained friends with many of her co-workers until the time of her death. 

She was a member of Greenville Alliance Church.  Elsie loved her children, their spouses, her brothers and sisters, her grandchildren and spouses and great-grandchildren and was a loving and supportive aunt to her many nieces and nephews.  She was always a good friend to her neighbors, church friends and members of her card club, who were together for 70 years. 

In 1948 she married Duane Gilson he passed away in 1975, in 1997 she married Dewey Scofield, he passed away in 2000. 

Surviving is a daughter, Jean A. Sankey and her husband Chad of Greenville; two sisters, Esther Osborne of Transfer and Shirley Hause and her husband Stan of Fredonia; five grandchildren, Kathryn Woodhouse, David Sankey, Paul Sankey, Emily Gilson and Laura Gilson and five great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a son, Thomas Gilson, a sister, Marjorie Anderson and two brothers, David Willaman and Robert Willaman.
