
Florence Louise (Nemeth) Tian, 86, of Greenville, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022.
She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on August 14, 1935, to her father, Joseph L. Nemeth, and her mother, Helen C. (Novotny) Nemeth. She married Dr. Will T.H. Tian on September 22, 1962.
She received a nursing degree from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, PA, where she subsequently worked as a nurse in the operating room. She was an active member of the Greenville Hospital Auxiliary for many years and served as president. She enjoyed her volunteer work, crafting, gardening, and had a love for animals. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Florence is survived by her children; her son, William Tian; her daughter, Deborah Verrier and her husband, Carlos and grandchildren, Isabel Tian Verrier and Lucas Tian Verrier; and her daughter, Melissa Tian. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband of 56 years, Will Tian.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Animal Friends, 562 Camp Horne Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15237 or St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, 85 N. High Street, Greenville, PA 16125.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1pm Friday, May 27, 2022 in St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Greenville, with Rev. Christopher Barnes, Pastor of the church as Celebrant. Family will receive friends immediately following the Mass in the Gathering Space of the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St., Greenville.

Loosing a mother is such a painful time in our lives
It doesn’t matter how old we are. But knowing that she is no longer in pain is a blessing

So sorry for your loss. I had enjoyed my visits with her when I worked at UPMC and she was a patient there several times. I would help her with her meal choices. She and Dr. Tian were such sweet people. May you find comfort and peace in the days ahead.
