“Gracie,” as I called her, was a very special friend!
I was the secretary at Hillside Presbyterian Church for just under 20 years. After several years, she became a volunteer and helped fold bulletins on Fridays and we became fast friends. Gracie was also a gifted artist. She often painted or did drawings but was shy about sharing them. She had a great sense of humor. She loved to laugh and visit and we laughed a lot! She also loved to eat out together, especially Mexican and Chinese! We went there often.
Her cousins threw her an 80th birthday party in one of the party rooms at St. Paul’s. So many came and she was thrilled at all of the attention! It was an especially pretty party with lots of good food and beautifully decorated cupcakes. She had the best time!! She was so happy to be loved and appreciated. She was a very special lady!

    I’ll miss you, Gracie!!

Grace was my mother’s roommate at St. Paul’s for the last 2 years and they grew very close referring to one another as the sister they never had. I enjoyed doing puzzles with her, watching t.v. and playing bingo. She was a sweet, loving God fearing woman. We will forever be touched by her kind heart, her soft spoken personality and her infectious laugh. Thank you Gracie for being a Best friend.
