Hazel “Polly” Winkle, age 71, of Greenville, and formerly of Hartstown, passed away Monday morning, November 6, 2023 in The Grove at Greenville.

Polly was born in Greenville on July 27, 1952 to William R. and Pearl E. (Thompson) Winkle. She was a former member of Fallowfield Methodist Church in Atlantic and MCAR in Hermitage. Polly was a bell collector and had over 400 bells from all over the world. People would bring them home from their trips to give to her. She loved people, always hugging and telling them stories about her cat and her kids (meaning her nieces and nephews) she called them her grandkids.

Polly is survived by her brother; Timothy R. Winkle and his wife Callie, who cared for her for years, two nieces; April (Larry) Turner and Annette (Jeff) Freshwater and a nephew; Christopher (Lauree) Winkle, great nieces and nephews; Austin (Harley), Caitlyn (Clarke), Lauren (Landyn), Stephen (Katie), Mason, Brooklyn and Levi and two great-great nieces; Charlee and Brynley. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother; John K. Winkle.

Memorial contributions may be made to Strayhaven Animal Shelter, 94 Donation Rd., Greenville, PA 16125 or to Word of Life Christian Church, 127 Wasser Rd., Greenville, PA 16125.

    I went to Fallowfield Church and Polly was a ray of sunshine. She knew everyone’s name and gave each person a hug! She was a good worker and always did the dishes!! Loved your mom and Polly. My husband made a curio cabinet for Polly to keep her bells in. You have our condolences. John andDebbie Hall

    I knew Polly as Her Mom and my Mom were good friends, there for we had seen one another often a few years ago. although we had not been in tough for a long while her smile and good humor was always
    present in spirit. Polly will be truly missed. signing this for Sara Baum ( Anna Weaver ), Daughter) and Mary Ida Wood. I talked to Mary Ida today we both send our Deepest Sympathy to the Winkle family God Bless and Keep you Safe. Sara

    Our sympathy to Polly’s Family We have many pleasant memories of Polly and her parents during and attending Fallowfield Church.
    Her many hugs and greetings by first names. Polly was so happy to be the best dishwasher. Anyone who knew her will never forget her.
