
James L. “Jim” Britton, age 73, of Chestnut St., Jamestown passed away Tuesday afternoon, October 16, 2018 in UPMC Hamot.
He was born in Atlantic, PA on August 22, 1945 a son of Herman and Fern (Calvin) Britton. On September 22, 1973 Jim married the former Kathleen Graham, she survives.
Jim was employed for over 30 years at Jamestown Paint and Varnish (JAPCO) and was a bartender at Jamestown Fireman's Club. He was a member Jamestown Volunteer Fire Department #89. Jim was a NASCAR fan, and enjoyed yard work and walking his dogs Scooter and Scampy.
He is survived by his wife Kathy of Jamestown, two sons; David Britton of Jamestown, Eric Davenport and his wife Shannon of Cooleemee, NC, a daughter; Carey Parker and her husband Dave of Greenville, four grandchildren, Eric Davenport, Jr., James Davenport, Amanda Riley, and David Parker, and four great grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Ed Britton and a sister, Cindy Brown.
A committal service will be held at 11:30am on Friday, October 19, 2018 in the chapel at Park Lawn Cemetery with Rev. John Hodge, Pastor of Jamestown United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Randall Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 416 Liberty St., Jamestown.
