James L. Fry, age 94, of Hilltop Rd., W. Salem Twp., passed away Thursday morning, August 4, 2016 in Sharon Regional Health System.
Mr. Fry was born in Greenville on April 4, 1922 to Henry J. and Sarah Frances (DuMars) Fry. Jim served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1943-1946 and he retired as the Assistant Superintendent from Greenville Steel Car Co. in 1983 after forty-one years of employment. He was a past member of American Legion Post #140 and during the 1960's and 70's he had been active with the W. Salem Twp. V.F.D. Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman and held membership with the N.R.A.
On February 20, 1942 he married the former Alice L. Evans, she passed away on December 23, 2003. Survivors include a daughter, Brenda M. Ramp and her husband Robert of Greenville, a son, Edward L. Fry, Sr. and his wife Sherry of Greenville, five grandchildren, Kimberly A. Fry-Duncan, Tammie M. Ross, Edward L. Fry, Jr., Darcie D. Smith, and Stacy N. Werder, ten great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, an infant son, James L. Fry, Jr., a great-great grandson, Brenton Shackleford, and four brothers and four sisters.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852.

To Ed & Sherry, I never met your father but I am sure he was a very fine man as he raised a good son. My condolences to all the family.
