James Russell Leffler, age 89, of Straub Rd. Greenville, passed away Thursday morning, September 1, 2022 in his residence. James was born March 8, 1933 in Greenville PA, to Jacob and Edith (Horn) Leffler. He attended Porter school for 8 years. He graduated from Penn High School, Greenville, PA in 1951. He worked at Spencer Container for 1 year and then on to work at Burns Auto Parts for 1 year. He entered the service (Army) May 28, 1953. Went to Pittsburgh PA for induction, and then to Fort Benning Georgia for 5 weeks of Sound Ranging School, then off to Fort Lewis Washington. He was discharged on May 27, 1955, rank of Corporal.
He went back to work at Burns Auto Parts for 10 years, then went to work at Greenville Tubes for 5 years. After that he went to work at Napa Auto Parts in Stoneboro, PA and retired from there in February 1997.
In the meantime, he married Charlotte Plummer August 4, 1956. They were married for 52 years, Charlotte passed away August 20, 2008.
He is survived by their for children; daughter Deborah Barnes and husband Duane of Conneaut Lake, Pa, Lori Alabran and husband Jim of Greenville, PA, daughter Nancy Leffler, LeHigh Acres, FL and son James Leffler Jr, LeHigh Acres, FL. 5 grandchildren; Angie Barnes, Justin Barnes, Missy Alabran, Mark Alabran, and Nichole Aversa. 6 great grandchildren; Summer Walker, Logan Walker, Hunter Garland, McKenzie Alabran, Cassidy Alabran and Maxwell Kincaid. 1 great great grandson Karter James Kaltenbaugh.
Since retiring he enjoyed detailing vehicles, repairing and restoring bicyles, sending some to South Dakota to the Indian Reservations. He enjoyed doing handyman work, gardening and yard work.
James was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church, Greenville PA, having served as an usher, Trustee and sound man. The family would like to thank Sharon Regional Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.

I am deeply sorry for your loss. Mr. Leffler was a kind man who I enjoyed getting to know. He detailed cars for my mom and me and always did an outstanding job!!!

I’m so sorry to hear of the passing of your Dad Debbie, Lori and Nancy and family my thoughts and prayers are with you all.
It has been a long time since I saw Uncle Jim and for that matter Debbie, Nancy, Lori and Jim Jr. I am very sorry for your loss and send my deepest condolences to all of you, his family, friends and his church. To my cousins, I have only fond memories of our childhood and of the times we spent together. Again my condolences to all of you on the loss of a great father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend.
To all the Leffler families, your father will be missed at church. He was so faithful in his worship every Sunday. We always enjoyed talking to him. You have our sincere sympathy and prayers. I am so sorry we can’t attend the funeral as we are out of state.
To all of the Leffler family my deepest sympathy for the loss of your loved one ! He was a great guy who will be dearly missed by many ! He was the go to guy for my parents for many years as far as car detailing ! RIP JIM !

I am sad to hear about Uncle Jim’s passing. I have been praying for you all these last many weeks especially. I’m sorry I couldn’t be there to celebrate his life. I will miss his sweet smile. He was ways eager to listen and visit with our family.
