
James E. Sayles, age 86, of Liberty St., Hartstown, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022 in his residence.
He was born in Westford, PA on February 25, 1935 to Edward and Evelyn (Niles) Sayles. Jim attended Jamestown High School and was a Dairy Farmer in Hartstown for over forty-five years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of Hartstown Presbyterian Church. Jim loved the outdoors, cutting wood and he was an avid hunter, recording 78 deer kills throughout his life. He also enjoyed feeding his geese and loved his dog “Rosie”.
On October 2, 1960 he married the former Salena L. Thompson, she passed away on July 5, 2017. He is survived by his son, Leland Sayles and his wife Karen of Hartstown and two granddaughters, Leanna Sayles and Sierra Sayles. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two daughters, Diane Marie Sayles and Debbie Lynn Sayles and two brothers, John Sayles and Gerald Sayles.
A Private Funeral Service will be held in Loutzenhiser-Randall Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 416 Liberty St., Jamestown, with Rev. Samuel Heagley, Pastor of Conneaut Lake Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Rocky Glen Cemetery, Adamsville. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma city, OK 73123.
