Janet (Guzzo) Biery Summerlin, age 81, of Vernon Rd., W. Salem Twp., passed away Tuesday morning, October 16, 2018 in St. Paul's.
She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on May 27, 1937 to John and Hilda (Russo) Guzzo. Janet was a 1955 graduate of St. Michael High School. She retired from Andover Industries in 1997 after twenty years of employment as a molder. She had previously been employed for a short time as a Secretary at Westinghouse Electric Transformer Plant in Sharon.
Janet was a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Greenville and had also held memberships with Reynolds VFW Post #7599 Auxilary and the Italian Home Club in Greenville.
On October 23, 1998 she married Edward Summerlin, he survives at home. Also surviving are two daughters; Joni Biery-Prugh of Greenville and Madolyn Gingell and her husband Robert of Ft. Myers, FL, two sons; Joseph Biery, Jr. and his wife Susan of Wooster, OH and Michael biery of Cape Coral, FL, two step-daughters; Venessa Summerlin of Buena Vista, CO and Barbara Carpenter of Floyds Knobs, IN, a step-son; Raymond Summerlin of Greenville, a brother; John Guzzo, Jr. and his wife Terry of Dubois, PA, five grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren and her previous husband Joseph Biery, Sr. of Jamestown.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter; Carla Prugh.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael School Endowment Fund, 85 N. High St., Greenville, PA 16125.

Joey, I am so very sorry for your loss. She will always be with you in every flower…every singing bird and every breeze that blows across a wind chime.
Words are inadequate to express the sorrow that we feel at the passing our cousin Janet. She was always a bright spot at family reunions. May God look kindly upon her soul and bring peace and comfort to her family. Even though we cannot be there our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Madolyn & Family, I’m very sorry for your loss, I will always remember your mom with a big pot of sauce cooking on the stove. When I would stay over when you lived across from the church, she always had a big pot of sauce cooking, and it was delicious ! such a beautiful soul always a smile. I have such warm memories of Janet that I’ll always treasure.
