Mary Lena Snodgrass, age 87, of 110 Fredonia Rd. Hempfield Twp. passed away Thursday evening 5-26-16 in White Cliff Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Greenville on May 1, 1929 to Vincent James and Edith (Shialo) Barbarossa. She attended St. Michael High School and during the 1970’s she had worked for the Greenville Area School District in the food service department. She was a Homemaker and member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Greenville.
Lena’s hobbies included, trips to the casinos, reading, and planting and gardening. In addition, she truly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
On January 27, 1950 she married Donald L. Snodgrass, he passed away December 10, 2001. She is survived by two daughters, Debbie Chess and Cheryl Swartz both of Greenville; a brother, Benny Barbarossa and his wife Bonnie of Greenville; three grandchildren, Matthew Swartz, Kelly Zoky and her husband Troy and Shane Snodgrass and two great-grandchildren, Alexis Zoky and Grace Zoky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Wesley Snodgrass, a sister, Teresa Rutter and a son-in-law, Rodney Chess.
Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice Services of Hermitage, 3871 E. State St. Hermitage, PA 16148.

Debbie and Cheri, so sorry to hear of you mom’s passing. I have many fond memories of teasing her and Dolores. They loved every minute of it. She was a sweetheart and I enjoyed spending time with her. Loved making her laugh. My prayers and thoughts are with you both. Know I am here for you should you need anything. Love you
