Leslie M. “Fantastic” Reese, Jr., 83, of Hartstown passed away Wednesday evening, September 20, 2017 in his residence.
He was born in Pittsburgh on January 3, 1934 a son of Leslie M. and Margaret (Skidmore) Reese. On May 14th, 1956 Les married the former M. Gayle Smith, she passed away November 20, 2010.Â
Les served his country for 22 years in the United States Air Force. He had previously owned/operated Reese's Corner Station, Hartstown and was formerly employed as a Lehr Bath Attendant at PPG for 18 years.Â
Les enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, flowers, and spending time with his children and grandchildren, as well as woodworking, partying, traveling and history. Les was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved German Shepard Dogs.Â
Les is survived by his children; Keith “Butch” Reese and his wife Dianne of Valdosta GA, Carol “Punkin” Splitstone and her husband David “Splitty” of Hartstown, Nancy Ebbert of Hartstown, Charles “Chuck” Reese of Hartstown. Kenneth “Kenny” Reese and his wife Valerie of Hartstown, a sister; Jean Riley of Pittsburgh, a brother in law; Elwood “Butch” Smith and his wife Joanie of Orlando Fl., ten grandchildren; Chris Reese, Jason Reese, William “Bill” Splitstone and his wife Lindsey, David Splitstone and Sareena Peterson, Ashley Wygant and her husband Jacob, Brandon Ebbert, Erishea Reese, Kenneth Reese Jr., Mason Reese, and Gage Reese. Also survived by 15 great grandchildren, and several cousin, nieces, and nephews.Â
Les was preceeded in death by his parents, wife, sister in law and her husband, Dawn and George Herr, a brother in law, Philip Riley, a son in law, Brian (Woody) Ebbert and a great granddaughter, Brittany Reese.
