Lulu J. (Lu) Bates of Greenville, Pennsylvania, passed away Sunday morning August 27, 2017 at St Paul’s.  She was born on January 13, 1935 in Greene Township, Mercer County, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Merle and Irene Brown Bates.

After twenty-six years of service with the First National Bank of Pennsylvania as a Trust Officer, Miss Bates retired in 1997.

Lulu was a wonderful, sweet lady, she enjoyed socializing in small groups or just one-on-one visits with friends at St. Paul’s.  She also enjoyed her alone and quiet time with her sister Dee.  There were many things she enjoyed doing in her younger years like watching Game shows and Jeopardy, dining out, and watching birds.  She really enjoyed company with her WOW person.  Lulu really enjoyed the holidays with her sister Dee.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Kathryn (Kathy) I. (Mrs. John R.) Lawton, and Dolores (Dee) Bates.

Per Lulu’s wishes there will be no calling hours or services.  Inurnment will be in Park Lawn Cemetery, Jamestown.  Arrangements entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremations Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main Street, Greenville, Pennsylvania.
