Marian A. Baird, of 106 Vine Avenue, Greenville, passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at the age of 90.

She was born on August 30, 1931 in Greenville to Clayton T. and Maude Wareham Oakes. She was a graduate of Penn High School, class of 1950. She later graduated from Thiel College and earned a Master's Degree from Edinboro College.

For more than 25 years she taught grade school in the Jamestown Area School system.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents, and her two sisters, Virginia Brown Stien of Dover Ohio, and Evelyn Lowry of Palatine, IL She is survived by her daughter, Martha Harbert of New York, NY and her two sons, James Baird (Cindy) of Jamestown and Miles Baird of Indiana, PA. She also leaves two nieces, Rosamond Brown Gordon (Paul) of Dover Ohio, and Valerie Lowry Murray (Tom) of Illinois.

At Marian's request, there will be no services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St., Greenville.

    I had the privilege of teaching with Marion. She was a dedicated teacher and a very kind and loving person. She influenced so many students and staff. My wife and I send our deepest condolences to her friends and family. May she rest in piece. She will be missed.

    My condolences to your family on the loss of your Mother. When she was teaching she had my daughter Wendy as a student. I was told that she was often called Linda instead of Wendy. My daughter said she got used to it happening and went along it. I believe it was 2nd grade.
