Mary L. Hatton-Almes, age 94, of Jamestown passed away Thursday morning, February 18, 2021 in St. Paul's Senior Living Community.

She was born in Jamestown on August 1, 1926 a daughter of Walter and Margaret (McCutcheon) Brown. She was a 1943 graduate of Jamestown High School and on December 23, 1944 Mary married Fredrick Hatton, he passed away February 24, 1998. She was previously employed as a mail carrier in Jamestown for 20 years and also worked part-time at Deer Park, Jamestown. She was an active member of Jamestown Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon and also worked in the nursery. She was a member of Jamestown School Board, voting board, and was a cub scout mom. Mary loved the outdoors and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Headley and her husband Carroll of Jamestown, Margaret Kobel and her husband Dennis of McConnellsburg, PA; a son, H. Lynn Hatton of Jamestown; a brother, James Brown of Jamestown; two sisters, Carolyn Linhart and Doris Leary both of Jamestown; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister-in-law June Brown, two brother-in-laws Charles Linhart and John Leary.

Memorial contributions may be made to Jamestown Presbyterian Church, 411 Liberty St., Jamestown, PA 16134.

    To the Entire Extended Family of Mary Louise,
    Please accept my sympathy for your loss of such a very special and highly respected Lady. I was fortunate to get to know her and serve with her on the Deacon Committee. I will always remember her beautiful smile and personality. God Bless.

    We are sending condolences to the entire family. Mary was a lovely lady. She will be missed by everyone. who knew her. We truly enjoyed seeing all the many family pictures . It was evident that she truly loved her family. Cling to all of those good memories.
