Melissa L. “Missy” Friedl-Shipley, age 49, of Eagle St., Greenville, passed away Friday, Novemeber 12, 2021 after a brief illness.
She was born in Greenville on December 1, 1971 to Daniel and Frances (Morrison) Friedl. Missy was a 1990 graduate of Commodore Perry High School and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Slippery Rock University. She was a Professional Artist for over thirty years and had also been employed for over ten years as a Police Communications Operator for Pennsylvania State Police Mercer Barracks. Missy had been active with Random Acts of Artists in Sharon and the Mercer County Republican Party, where she was a committee woman and trustee. She had a true passion for wiener dogs and had volunteered with Doxie National Rescue. Missy also took great pride in flower gardening and researching Ancestry and Genealogy.
On March 13, 1993 she married Brian W. Shipley, he survives. Also surviving are Aunt Carol McCullough and her family of Clarks Mills, who raised Missy since a young age, her grandmother, Dorothy Young of Clarks Mills, three sisters, Anne Moore and Abbie Friedl, both of LaGrange, OH and Malinda Abrams and her husband Aric of Stoneboro, six brothers, Daniel Friedl, JR. of Mercer, Brian Friedl and his wife Crystal of Greenville, Michael Friedl of Jackson Center, Adam McCullough of Mercer, Jeremy McCullough of Clarks Mills and Eric McCullough of South Carolina, eight nieces, Samantha Friedl, Nicole Hawkins, Lillianna Morrison, Alexis Friedl, Serenity Friedl, Amelia Abrams, Katrina McCullough and Kennedy Moore, three nephews, Brian Friedl, Jr., Aaron Abrams and Leroy Abrams, mother-in-law, Edith Foulk of Greenville and a sister-in-law, Malinda Hawkins and her husband Rod of Booneville, IN. She was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Frances Elder, grandfather, Earl Morrison, step-mother, Ann Friedl, a brother, Nick Friedl and father-in-law, Donald Foulk.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shipley family and mailed to the funeral home address or to the charity of the donors choice.

Cousin Missy, You are a great cousin a great person and a great leader! You will always be deer in my heart, you are above looking down, you are with my mother my brother and all your love ones that had passed. May you rest in peace. Your cousin Theresa.

Oh Missy, this just hurts my heart. You were and always will be a beautiful person inside and out. You just loved life and everyone in your life. I have so many wonderful memories of you during school and after graduation for that last 30 plus years. You were one in a million Miss! You adored and loved our 1990 class and kept us together. I don’t know the why behind this, but I know God has a plan for you. I will miss you deeply my friend and I love you with all my heart Missy. Until we meet again, rest easy. To Missy’s family, I am sorry for your loss. May God give you peace, comfort and may he wrap his arms around you during this difficult time. We all just loved Missy beyond words.
