Michael L. “Sonny” Johnson, age 68, of S. Mercer St. Greenville, passed away Monday morning May 10, 2021 in UPMC Hamot, Erie.
He was born in Johnstown, PA on August 16, 1952 to Carl and Violet (Markovitch) Johnson. He was a graduate of Beaverdale High School and had been employed as a General Manager of Red Lobster, working in multiple states. Sonny was a former member of the Greenville Italian Home Club and his hobbies included golfing and fishing. He was an avid Pittsburgh Sports Team and Penn State Football fan.
Sonny is survived by his mother; Violet Poloisky and her husband Henry of Cresson, PA, five children; Michelle Johnson and Michael Johnson, both of Cleveland, Sara Johnson of Brookfield, OH, Piper Johnson of Chicago, IL and Brandy Johnson of Erie, a sister; Donna Blackburn of Greenville, two brothers; Jimmy Johnson of Greenville and Brian Johnson of Hermitage and five grandchildren; Cody Norsic, MiaBella Ferragonio, Jordyn Johnson, Zephriah Johnson and Kaden Dillingham. He was preceded in death by his father.

When the phone rang from Heaven,you answered Sonny and said “I am ready Dear Lord.” Now, God has you in his arms and your Mom,Violet will always have you in her heart forever.. Rest in Peace,Sonny.Condolences and Prayers .
My dad was an amazing man he loved his family his friends an he was very avid about his cooking an spending time with his family. Family events won’t ever be the same without daddy around. When God called u dad no one was expecting to lose you. We all thought you would fight this, but God said it was you’re time an I know that you are flying high with our family. You will be missed luke crazy. I love you daddy.
