
Nancy Elizabeth McElree, age 62, of Ghanna, OH and formerly of Greenville passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on Monday, March 16, 2020.
She was born December 3, 1957 to Geraldine M. and Dr. Frank E. McElree, Jr. She graduated from Greenville High School in 1976 and from West Virginia Weslyan College in 1980.
Nancy lived and worked in Oklahoma and Arizona, finally settling in Columbus, Ohio. She was a free spirit, and loved her independence.
Surviving are her mother, sister, Rev. Lynn M. Portz and her husband Rev. Dr. Douglas E. Portz of Gibsonia, Pa., two brothers, Thomas J. McElree and his wife Marianne of Wexford, Pa., Frank (Mack) E. McElree, 3rd, of Fort Myers, Florida, one nephew, Ben Portz, three nieces, Rev. Bethany Harbaugh and her husband Dr. Matthew Harbaugh, Jennifer McElree and Lauren McElree, and two great nephews, Daniel Harbaugh and Eli Harbaugh.
She was predeceased by her grandparents and her father.
There will be no calling hours, and a memorial service will be held at a later time at the discretion of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St., Greenville.

I am so sorry to hear of your earthly loss of Nancy. I fondly remember her and the many conversations we had when she was in the Greenville area and coming in and out of First Presbyterian Church and attending so many of the programs there. May our Lord give you comfort and peace as you grieve this most difficult loss.

So sorry to hear this sad news. Nancy and I were in the same Greenville High School class. I remember her with fondness as a kind and gentle soul. My thoughts are with the family and prayers are raised for you as you grapple with this new reality and most difficult time. RIP, Nancy, and sing along with that angel choir. Maybe Mr. Ted Young is in the lead!

I just recently found out about Nancy’s passing, and wanted to pass along condolences to her family. She was a free spirit, and I remember our conversations fondly. Due to computer tech issues on my end we lost touch, but Nancy always had a special place in my heart, and my prayers are with her family.
