Nicholas J. Kusich, Jr., age 62, of Clinton St., Greenville, passed away unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack Sunday evening, September 4, 2016 in Albany, NY while returning from a hunting trip in Maine.
He was born in Greenville on July 15, 1954 to Nicholas J. Kusich, Sr. and Nellie (Peden) Kusich. Nick was a 1973 graduate of Greenville Senior High School and had worked over the past thirty years at G.S. Kusich Construction. He was an avid hunter and had enjoyed his yearly drives and hunts in Montana, taking in the outdoors and sitting in the woods, trips to the family camp in Marienville, and just spending time with his grandkids and hunting buddies.
On September 13, 1997 he married the former Joan Murrell, she survives at home. Also surviving is his parents of Greenville, three daughters, Nicole Callen and her husband Carl of Greenville, Keri Kusich of Greenville, and Hannah Gruver and her husband Ryan of Sheakleyville, a son, Christopher T. Ball of the UK, a brother, George S. Kusich and his wife Denise of Greenville, a sister, Nadine Atkinson of Butler, and ten grandchildren.

I am beond words when i found out of Nick’s passing. Nick and you are my best friends and all we have left are momories of all the great times we had together. You and the entire Jusich Family are in my prayers. Hold tight to memories for comfort, lean on your friends for strength and always remember how much you are cared about.

To the Kusich Family. I was very shocked and heartbroken to hear the passing of Nick. He was one of my favorite patients and I will miss his smile and him giving me a hard time. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

I am deeply saddened of Nick’s passing. I am also deeply saddened and disappointed in myself that because of some of my own health issues I will not be able to attend services. Nick, George, the Green Buffalo and the entire Kusich family will always, always be a part of my life. You are always on my mind. Thanks for the good times.

I share your shock and heartbreak and pray for the relief of your pain. I am so sorry I wasnt able to make the journey for services. Little Nick was anything but… He had a huge heart of gold, cherished his girls, family and friends. I looked up to Nick as a true friend and fatherly figure. He made sacrifices for my benefit when he took time from his family and busy schedule to take me hunting when I was just a wee punk… Sooo many great memories!!! Gone but NEVER forgotten, Rest in Peace my friend!
