

Rachel A. Bentley, age 25, of Garden City, KS and formerly of Vernon Rd., W. Salem Twp., Greenville, passed away Tuesday morning, October 29, 2019 in Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, KS after a very brief battle with Leukemia.
She was born in Greenville on June 28, 1994 to Alan Scott and Kathryn L. (Stevens) Bentley. Rachel was a 2012 graduate of Reynolds High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society and as a member of the school's Academic Decathlon Team, she was a medalist at the state level in 2012. In 2016, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Clarion University with a B.S. in Secondary Education. While at Clarion, she was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, served as a campus advisor for two years and was a member of the rugby team. She most recently received a B.S. in Criminal Justice Degree from Clarion University.
For the past three years she was employed at USD 457 School District, Garden City, KS, where she taught History and Social Studies, taught a law course, AP courses and night classes. Rachel enjoyed attending Broadway musicals and was a talented artist.
She is survived by her mother; Kathryn Barker and her husband Doug of Transfer, her father; Alan Scott Bentley of Zelienople, PA, a sister; Sarah Bentley of Meadville, a step-brother; Christopher Barker of Transfer, maternal grandfather; Earl Stevens of Espyville, paternal grandparents; Neal and Ruth Bentley of Espyville and her boyfriend; Aaron Jacobs of Garden City, KS.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held Tuesday, November 5, 2019 from 4:00-7:00pm in Reynolds V.F.W. Post #7599, 115 Edgewood Dr., Greenville. Arrangements have been entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St., Greenville, PA.

Kathy, Scott, Ruth, and Neil……..I was so very sorry to read of Rachel’s untimely illness and passing. I remember her as a wee toddler and also at piano recitals as a young girl. I cannot even imagine the loss of such an accomplished and lovely child and granddaughter. My heart goes out to all of you at this unbearable time. Mere words cannot begin to take away any of the pain. Cherish your memories. Love you and miss seeing you.

I am so sorry for your loss. I remember Rachel from preschool. She was a quiet but very sweet child. It looks like she accomplished a lot during her too-short life. I’m sure she will be missed by many whose lives she has touched.
