Richard C. Ferguson, age 83, formerly of Sharpsville and Greenville, passed away Thursday afternoon, July 6, 2017 in Nugent's Continuing Care Retirement Community, Hermitage.
He was born in Sharpsville, PA on May 27, 1934 to William C. and Kathryn S. (Cornell) Ferguson. Richard was a 1952 graduate of Sharpsville High School and had served his country in the U.S. Army, stationed in Japan. He retired from Copperweld Steel in Warren, Ohio, where he worked as a welder and as a shipper for thirty three years. He was of the Protestant Faith and he enjoyed attending car races, fishing, and watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren's sporting events.
His first wife, the former Susan Hammercheck preceded him in death in 1978. He then married the former Anna May Mealy on March 7, 1981, she survives in W. Middlesex.
Also surviving are two daughters; Leslie F. Ferguson of Sharon and Linda M. Ferguson of Sharpsville, a son; Robert C. Ferguson and his wife Lynn of Farrell, two step-children, Jody M. Swingle of Sharpsville and Linda S. Albaugh of Petrolia, a step-son; Vernon J. Ferguson and his wife Nabuko of Okinawa Japan, fourteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, a brother: William Ferguson and two step daughters; Paula M. Ferguson and John R. Ferguson.

He was a gentle man, my sympathies to his family, especially his daughters, Leslie and Linda
Ferguson family- sorry to hear of Richards passing. You know I would come if I was living in the area.
