Robert S. Gargasz, age 79, of Hadley Rd., Perry Twp., Hadley, passed away Thursday afternoon, September 30, 2021 in UPMC Horizon Greenville, due to complications of COVID.
He was born in Volant, PA on May 30, 1942 to Stanley and Verna (Pragacz) Gargasz. Bob was a 1960 graduate of New Wilmington High School, served in the U.S. Navy from 1960-1963 and received his B.S. in Criminology from Y.S.U. in 1977.
He was employed during the 1970's at George Junior Republic, served as Clerk of Courts for Mercer County during the 1980's and during the 1990's he was the owner/operator of Gargasz Consulting and had served as the Greenville Borough Tax Collector.
Bob was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Greenville, where he taught Sunday School and served as a Deacon and Church Council member. He was a member of Greenville Borough Council and had served as Mayor of Greenville during the late 1980's and early 90's. Bob was a member of Greenville V.F.W. Post #3374 and Fredonia American Legion Post #165. He had a true dedication to his self fitness and exercised seven days a week. On July 7, 1973 he married the former Gaye Flecken, she survives.
Also surviving are two daughters; Bobbi J. Bauman and her husband Robb of Jacksonville, FL and Becki J. Lyons and her husband Bob of Cape Coral, FL, a son; Steven J. Gargasz and his wife Lori of Hermitage, a sister; Nancy Heim of Warren, OH, three brothers; Donald Gargasz and his wife Jane of Salem, OH, Richard Gargasz and his wife Ana of Jacksonville, FL and Gary Gargasz and his wife Patty of Volant and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial contributions may be made to Strayhaven Animal Shelter, 94 Donation Rd., Greenville, PA 16125. Arrangements have been entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St., Greenville.

My sincere and deepest condolences to the Gargasz family. I have known Bob and Gaye for almost 50 years. Bob was a man of faith and a true American Patriot. I enjoyed all the times
we spent together, talking about our Military hero’s, past and present. He will be missed and I know he will watch over all of us. To all of the Gargasz family, may the good Lord wrap his arms around all of you during this difficult time in your lives. Rest in Peach my good friend!
Robb and Bobbi and family, I am so sorry. He really lived life and sounds like a great person. I will keep you in my prayers as grieve for your Dad, FIL and Grandpap.

Gaye and family—SO SORRY to hear of Bob’s passing. He was always so friendly in church, helped me get a job during his consulting days and was a fellow exerciser at Anytime Fitness, My children and I always felt safe when we were neighbors on Rosedale with Taco’s guarding the neighborhood!
