My heart goes out to you Darlene. Our prayers for you and your family. Such an unexpected and sad loss. My words, though heart felt, seem too little to express my love and support at this time. God bless you all.
I was a classmate of Ron, GHS 1963. Ron was a good friend. He and I became closer 8 and a half years ago, when I was quite ill, and he and other members of our class sent me cards in the hospital, I believe Ron and Betty Kay were the ones who spread the news that I was ill, and cards flooded in, lifting my spirits greatly, and I got well. Ever since then, he has regularly sent me email messages, of amazing sights in the world, and exposing me to many things I would never on my own have known existed. Sometimes I would get 2-3 emails and photos a week, they came in spurts. He was very curious about the world, and I assume he shared his knowledge and interests with many. He and I regularly communicated that way. the last time apparently only a few hours before his sudden death. My heart goes out to you, Mrs. Kelly, and to your family. He was a great guy. I will miss him and his sense of humor, his ready smile.
Our deepest sympathies and condolences.
Ron was my friend and I enjoyed visiting with him when I was in Greenvile. He was a really great guy.
Darlene, today and tomorrow you celebrate the Life of Ron, a true gentlemen and a great soul. I woke up today with a thought of your Wedding Reception
where we were all around the table, and you and I told the stories of how we used to Unhooked my Dad’s Speedometer and go all over, and my Dad then gave me the car and said
“it only has 40000 Miles on it, and how we learned how to change a fan belt on that Corvair. Ron laughed so hard at that thought, and he said to me ” I just cant believe you two KNEW how to do that” ( he was probably more directed at me rather than you ) WE shared over the years many laughs and giggles and I remember Ron leaving you and I to laugh and giggle. ( he could not handle any more . He was a wonderful partner for you and your family. Today and tomorrow I will remember the laughs and he great times we all had together, as I pray for the repose of his Soul as he joins the faithful departed.
Darlene and family Ed and I send out deepest sympathies and condolences to you at this time of sorrow. Ron will be missed by many.
