
Roxanne Lynn (Kitch) McElhinny, age 61, of Greenville passed away from a sudden and aggressive battle with cancer on Saturday evening, May 6, 2017 in St. Paul's.
She was born in Grove City on May 31, 1955 a daughter of Richard and Etta (Spaulding) Kitch. Roxanne was married to her Reynolds High School sweetheart Denny for 43 years. She was employed as the activity coordinator at St. Paul's where she was loved by the residents and her co-workers, she retired in January 2017.
Roxanne loved life! She enjoyed traveling with Denny to visit family and friends, her favorite vacations were spent relaxing at the beach. She was caring, strong, opinionated, witty, and creative. She was an example for how to make the world a better place by treating people with kindness, even in the midst of her illness she told her children to “pay it forward”. She could be found laughing with her sister Renee or best friend since grade school Cindy.
She is survived by her husband Denny of Greenville; her three children whom she adored, Wendy McElhinny and her husband Richard Kelly of Charlotte, NC; Katie Dietrich and her husband Ronald of Greenville; Matthew McElhinny and his wife Sara of Poland, OH; she was an amazing grandmother to Nicholas Dietrich, Mason Dietrich, Ethan Dietrich, Benjamin McElhinny, Rian McElhinny, and Bartholomew Kelly; two sisters, Renee Kitch Wike of Lebanon, PA and Rhonda Kitch Kohler of OH; a brother, Richard Kitch, Jr. of PA; best friend, Cindy Peterson McCann of Fontana, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Roxanne's family will host a celebration of life service at 1:00pm on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at the Anderson Pavilion at St. Paul's, 339 E. Jamestown Rd., with Rev. Julia Fraser, chaplain of St. Paul's officiating. The family would like to ask that everyone dress casual.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's, 339 E. Jamestown Rd., Greenville, PA 16125 or the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Dr., Pittsburgh, PA 16205.

Denny and Family — please accept my condolences at the passing of your dear wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Roxanne was a classmate and friend at Transfer Elementary, then RHS, whom I adored. She was so warm and funny, and just a really fun person to be with. The years and miles have not dimmed my memories of her, and I pray that your own memories of her will bring you peace and comfort, and most of all, laughter.

So sorry for your loss. We were neighbors of the Kitch’s. She was quite a bit younger than me, but she played with my youngest sister. May Roxanne rest in peace. My prayer are with you.
