
Ruth E. Eckles, age 89, of Jamestown passed away Sunday morning, May 14, 2017 in the Grove at Greenville.
She was born in Greenville on March 1, 1928 a daughter of Lloyd and Margaret (Owen) Lane. She was a 1946 graduate of Jamestown High School and in June of 1951 she married Leon Eckles, he passed away in March of 1998.
Ruth retired from Andover Plastics where she was employed as a laborer and she had previously been employed as a waitress at the former The Inn in Jamestown. She enjoyed cooking and baking cookies.
She is survived by a son, Charles Swartz of Jamestown; a daughter, Edith McCormick and her husband Harry of The Villages, FL; thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Delmar Swartz, Jr., two brothers, Lloyd Lane and William Owen, a step-son, Robert Eckles, daughter-in-law, Jana Swartz, a grandson, Scott Almes, and a great grandson, Brant Almes.
As per Ruth's wishes, cremation was chosen and there will be no services. Inurnment will be in Park Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Randall Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 416 Liberty St., Jamestown.
