Susan M. Bittler, age 77, of the Colony at St. Paul's Senior Living Community, went to her eternal home on Friday, November 4, 2022 in St. Paul's Senior Living Community.

She was born in Harrisburg, PA on September 15, 1945 a daughter of Henry and Ruth (Elbert) Rissmiller. She was a 1964 graduate of Hershey High School and received her masters degree in Nursing Education from Wagner College in Staten Island, NY. On November 27, 1971 Susan married Paul James Bittler, Jr., he passed away August 18, 2021. She was employed as a nurse educator at Long Island Jewish Medical Center until her retirement in 2002. She enjoyed sewing and volunteering at the Good Shepard Food Pantry.

Susan was a lifelong Lutheran, having been an active member of the congregations where she lived, the last being Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Greenville. She is survived by a daughter, Sarah Bittler and son Paul Bittler III (Stephanie), granddaughters, Kathleen and Jeanette, all of Long Island; a sister Ann Horting (Ed) of Elizabethtown, PA ; four nephews and three nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1 Trinity Place, Greenville, PA 16125 or to The Good Shepard Center, 10 N. Water St., Greenville, PA 16125. Arrangements have been entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St., Greenville.
