Virginia Rose (Burt) Morgan, age 90, formerly of Coal Bank Rd., W. Salem Twp., passed away peacefully Monday, May 7, 2018 with her family at her side.
She was born in Union City, PA on June 19, 1927 to Bishop F. and Hazel (Berghoff) Burt. She graduated from Penn High School in 1945. Virginia was a member of First Baptist Church, Greenville and had been previously active with the Baptist Women's Association. She had been employed at Camp Reynolds at the end of WWII and had also worked at Talon Corp. in Meadville, G.C.Murphy's in Greenville and had driven bus. She had also been a bookkeeper for her husband James, at Morgan's Body Shop for over thirty years and worked in distribution and as a bookkeeper at the Record Argus.
Later in life, through Green Thumb, she worked in the Bindery at Thiel College and enjoyed volunteering at St. Paul's. Her hobbies and interests included, camping, crafts, and helping her family. On November 14, 1947 she married James Davis Morgan, and after recently celebrating seventy years of marriage, he passed away on January 6th of this year.
Virginia is survived by two daughters; Debra Dooley of Killen, TX and Diana Swartwood and her husband Ronald of Greenville, a son; James D. Morgan, Jr. and his fiance Brenda Augustine of Greenville, two brothers; Andrew Burt and his wife Georgine and John Burt and his wife Laverna, all of Greenville, a grandson; Michael Dooley and his wife Melissa and five great-grandchildren, all of Kileen, TX, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers; William Burt and Gerald Burt and a sister; Margaret Neal.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
