Wayne L. “Weiner” Gehr, age 83, of Liberty St., Jamestown passed away Friday afternoon January 14, 2022 in his residence surrounded by family.

He was born in Meadville on June 25, 1938 a son of Marshall and Sarah (Wescott) Gehr. He was previously employed at Blazon for 13 years, Damascus Tubes for 33 years, and drove part-time for Lakeland Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in Greenville for 10 years. He was a lifetime member of Gold Wing Road Riders Chapter N. Wayne enjoyed hunting, camping especially the yearly family trip to Pymatuning, bowling, dancing, and riding motorcycles where he and Evelyn traveled 48 states and into Canada. He was always happy and would love to tell jokes to make people smile. Wayne truly enjoyed spending time with family especially visiting his best friend and great grandson Owen. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers Fan and enjoyed watching Dale Earnhardt.

He is survived by his fiance of 43 years Evelyn Smith; five children, Christina Hargenrader and her husband Harold of Meadville, Cory Gehr and his wife Lynn of Marathon, NY, Shauna Gehr of Las Vegas, NV, Davey Giddings and his wife Linda of Jamestown, Heather Ongley and her husband Myron of Espyville; two sisters, Evelyn Spencer and her husband Hershel of Orangeburg, SC, Dorothy Wheeling of Carlton, PA; seven grandchildren Brooke and Wesley Hargenrader, Matthew Cranston, Jacob Gehr, Nichole and Alysha Giddings, and Samantha Alford; seven great grandchildren, Jayse, Anthony, Eli, Milo, Russell, Aaliyha, and Owen.

He was preceded in death by his parents two brothers Melvin Gehr and Earl Leonard Gehr, three sisters Thelma Simpson, Eleanor Hart, and Margie Wallace.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Institute, 16792 Conneaut Lake Rd., Meadville, PA 16335. Arrangements have been entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Randall Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 416 Liberty St., Jamestown.

    I worked with Weiner at Damascus tubes for five years. Such a great man and very kind and generous. May the arms of God circle your family with love.
