
William L. Lentz III, age 68, of Redwood Dr., Hempfield Twp., passed away unexpectedly of natural causes Monday evening, October 11, 2021 in the ER of UPMC Horizon Greenville.
He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on April 15, 1953 to William L. Lentz, Jr. and Loretta (Grimm) Lentz. Bill was a 1971 graduate of Brentwood High School. He was employed for sixteen years as a Senior Service Tech with PPG Industries Automotive Dept. and then retired from Mankiewicz Coatings, where he had also worked as a Senior Service Tech for eight years. Bill had attended and supported all his children's sporting events and had also coached in the Greenville Little League and Senior League system. In addition, he enjoyed spending time with his dog “Max”.
On November 27, 1981, he married the former Mary E. Duttine, she survives. Bill is also survived by his two sons, William L. Lentz IV and his wife Ashley and Steven J. Lentz, all of Greenville, a sister, Judith Cole of Pittsburgh a granddaughter, Aubrielle and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, October 15, 2021 from 5:00-7:00pm in Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St., Greenville. Memorial contributions may be made to Strayhaven Animal Shelter, 94 Donation Rd., Greenville, PA 16125 or to Greenville Little League c/o Scott Walker, 18 News St., Greenville, PA 16125.

Mary, Billy and Steve, I am so very sorry for your loss. I will always remember him letting “Chantelle” putting stickers on his shoes at sporting events. He was a good sport. May he Rest In Peace and you be comforted by memories in the days ahead.

To the Lentz Family, you have my sincere condolences, and prayers.. I never met Bill in person, but we spoke via email and phone. Bill recently donated mesh radio equipment to our ham radio club in Pottstown, PA, and we are extremely grateful for Bill’s generosity. I watched the beautiful video of pictures on this website, and it gave me a brief glimpse into Bill’s family . Thank you for sharing and God Bless you all.
