William E. “Billy” McCarthy, age 48, of S. Second St., Greenville, passed away Monday afternoon, September 20, 2021 in his residence.
He was born in Beaver Falls, PA February 10, 1973 to Richard C. and Lillian P. (Reed) McCarthy. Billy was a 1994 graduate of Greenville High School, where he was a participant in the Gateways Program. He had been active with M.C.A.R in Hermitage for the past 10 years. Billy enjoyed fishing, bowling, spending time with his friends, and participating in the annual Night To Shine event.
He is survived by his mother of Greenville, two sisters, Leona A. Whittington and her husband Steve of Vidor, TX and Marion R. Dickins of Greenville, two nephews, Kevin and Eric Whittington and a niece, Lisa Walker. He was preceded in death by his father.

I have had the privilege to introduce William to the people standing along the red carpet at Night to Shine in the past. William was always a joy and will be missed. I pray that the family has peace and can’t tell them how sorry I am to hear this..
