Alta Mckay

Alta Mae McKay, age 96, of Greenville, passed away Tuesday morning, February 16, 2021 in St. Paul's Senior Living Community.

She was born in Greenville on July 18, 1924 to Hugh James Morrison and Gertrude (David) Morrison. She married Thomas Edward McKay on January 25, 1943, he passed away on December 13, 2000. Alta graduated from Penn High School in 1942. She was employed for twenty-two years in the Business and Accounting Office of Greenville Regional Hospital, retiring in 1988. She was an active member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Greenville, serving as a lector, receptionist at the Rectory and a volunteer in Michael's Mantle.

Alta is survived by her son; Richard Thomas McKay and his wife Francine of Hot Springs Village, AR. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters; Helen Stevenson and Grace Baker and a brother; H. James Morrison. Alta loved living in Greenville and will be missed by her loved ones and friends. Every life has a story and hers was one that we are all so happy to have been a part of. Rest in peace Alta!

There will be no services at this time. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St., Greenville.
