Andrew F. “Andy or Hank” Burt, age 92, of The Colony at St. Paul's Senior Living Community and formerly of River Rd. Greenville, passed away Monday evening, December 20, 2021 in UPMC Presbyterian.

He was born in North East, PA on July 4, 1929 to Bishop and Hazel (Berghoff) Burt. He was a graduate of Penn High School and served in the U.S. Air Force stationed in Germany during the Korean War Era. He was employed as a coil winder for over thirty-years at Westinghouse Electric Corp. Transformer Division Reynolds Plant. He was active with Fredonia V.F.D. for over twenty years and had been in charge of servicing the air packs for the department. In addition, he also headed the pre-cook for the department during old home week. After the tornado of 1985 that struck Atlantic, PA he volunteered significant hours helping with the clean up. He also supported the Amish School auctions in Atlantic for many years. As an avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt and he also enjoyed collecting, repairing and re-loading of guns, cutting trees on his property, and metal working.

On August 20, 1955 he married the former Georgine I. Leonard, she passed away on June 5, 2021. Survivors include his two sons, Ronald Burt and his wife Rebecca of Painted Post, NY and John Burt and his wife Bing of Elgin, IL, a brother, John Burt and his wife Laverna of Greenville, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters, Margaret Neal and Virginia Morgan and two brothers, William Burt and Gerald Burt.
