Ann Angeline Augustine, age 99, of Fredonia Rd., Hempfield Twp., Greenville passed away Saturday morning, March 1, 2025, just 10 weeks before her 100th birthday.
She was born in Greenville on May 13, 1925 to Tofie and Magdeline (Celes) Banic. Ann was a graduate of St. Michael High School and had been employed at Westinghouse Electric and Camp Reynolds prior to becoming a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Greenville and was known for her famous homemade Sunday spaghetti dinners and pies. Ann enjoyed playing bingo, garage sales, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Whenever anyone was sick, Ann would always have a pot of soup with homemade noodles on the stove ready to take to them. She loved polka dancing with her husband at The Blue Sky and the Italian Home Club. Over the years, Ann cared for many senior citizens in their homes.
On February 16, 1946, she married Amos Augustine; he passed away March 28, 2007.
Ann is survived by two daughters, Irene (Randy) Graham and Cecilia (David) Urey, both of Greenville; two sons, Gerald (Janet) Augustine and Dean (Susan) Augustine, both of Greenville; a sister, Rita Pyrdek, of Conneaut Lake; a sister-in-law, Nancy Banic, of Greenville; seven grandchildren: Danny (Tracy) Schaaf, Nick (Samantha) Augustine, Jason (Kim) Owen, Brandy (Dan) Varga, Anthony (Wendy) DiGregorio, Joshua Suntheimer, and Jacob (Jennifer) Suntheimer; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Ben (Karen), Stephen, Thomas (Louise), and Robert (Theresa); and a brother-in-law, Joseph Pyrdek.
Services:
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, 3/7/25, in St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Greenville with Fr. Raymond Gramata as Celebrant. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, 3/6/25, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM in Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St. Greenville. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
