Anne Patterson Valesky, age 88, of Atlantic passed away Friday afternoon, July 14, 2023 in her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born in Greenville on December 22, 1934 a daughter of Cecil and Mary (Brown) Patterson. She was a 1952 graduate of Jamestown High School and on October 27, 1953 Anne married Richard J. “Dick” Valesky Sr., he passed away December 9, 2011. She was a homemaker until her children were grown and then worked as a mail carrier for Atlantic Post Office for almost 20 years. She was a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Greenville and attended St. Margaret Mission, Jamestown. Anne was a faithful servant and enjoyed attending prayer groups. She was also a member of St. Michael School Board, PTA, Parish Counsel, St. Margaret Guild, and a life member of Sigma Capa Sorority at Thiel College.
Anne was one of the founders of the Good Samaritans in Atlantic, helped start the Good Shepard Center, and kept the records for St. Michael Cemetery and Rocky Glen Cemetery. She was an avid reader, especially learning about history, and enjoyed watching sports especially when her husband, children, and grandchildren were involved. She truly enjoyed all family activities especially the family trips to the Outer Banks.
She is survived by five sons, Mike Wittum and his wife Maureen of Dallas, TX, Richard J. Valesky Jr. of Jamestown, Ben Valesky and his wife Diana of Atlantic, Mike Valesky and his wife Dee of Conneaut Lake, and Sam Valesky and his wife Shannon of Hartstown; five daughters, Mary Jordan and her husband Dave of Manhattan, Kansas, Cathy Main and her husband Ron of Cochranton, Rose Allison and her husband Dave of Greenville, Cecilia Bayuk of Greenville, and Margaret Anderson and her husband Greg of Cranberry, PA; a brother Jim Patterson and his wife Onnalee of Greenville, a sister, Pat Woodard and her husband Martin of Greenville; 25 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Memorial contributions may be made the School Endowment Fund at St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, 85 N. High St., Greenville, PA 16125.
