Arden Grant McConnell, age 81, of Atlantic passed away Tuesday morning, December 26, 2023 in his residence. He was born on November 24, 1942 a son of John Grant and Christine (Courtney) McConnell.

Raised in Atlantic on the family farm, he went to East Fallowfield Elementary School, graduated from Conneaut Lake High School in 1960 and attended Penn State College at Behrend. On April 4, 1962 Arden married the former Joyce Bradley, she survives. He was a member of Fallowfield United Methodist Church, IOOF Lodge # 1128 of Atlantic, Atlantic Grange # 344, a board member of Rocky Glen Cemetery, and Crawford South Camp of Gideon's International. He was employed at McCrosky Tool Corp. and Palmer Brothers, Inc. before he was hired by Sunbeam on July 5, 1966 as a trades helper in the shop. He changed classifications in September 1966 to become a JCB Machinist. On April 16, 1968 he transferred from the shop to the office as a sales engineer and later became a sales project engineer on November 16, 1974. On July 31, 1978 he transferred from sales to become the assistant manage of budgeting and inventory control. He was promoted to the manager of estimating on December 18, 1978.

In addition to his wife Joyce of 61 years, he is survived by three children, David (Andrea) McConnell, Lora (Kenny) Toth, Rebecca Buck; six grandchildren, Travis Toth, Christopher Toth and his fiance Kaytee Betts, Megan McConnell, Abby (Paul) Beresford, Allison Buck, and Alexis Buck; six great grandchildren, Emory Toth, Ava Toth, Channing Toth, Grayson Smith, Adalaya Beresford, and Rowen Beresford. He was preceded in death by his parents.
