Barbara Biery

Barbara B. Biery, age 90, of Jamestown, PA passed away on February 15, 2023.

Born in Greenville, PA on October 21, 1932 she was the youngest daughter of the late Benjamin and Vera Beckstine. A brother, Bud Beckstine and sisters, Shirley Beall and Patricia Livingston all preceded her departure. Barbara graduated from Pymatuning Joint High School and was the valedictorian of the Class of 1950. She met her late husband James Steele Biery in high school. He played basketball and she was a cheerleader. They married in 1954 and spent 46 years together.

Barbara is survived by her children, James Biery Jr. (Georgia) of Yulee, FL. Pamela Jaynes (Arnie) of Washington, NC. Carolyn Rodgers (Keith) of Jamestown, PA . Thomas Biery (Jacqui) of Los Angeles, CA. And William Biery (Nanette) of Meadville, PA. She will be missed by her 9 grandchildren, Benjamin (Megan), Alex (Kacie), Megan, Kayley, Jamie, Joel, Talia, Levi and Liana who all called her “Grammy” and a newborn great grandson, Miles. Barbara was a farm girl at heart. She was an avid gardener, animal lover and her baked goods were legendary especially the famous family cookie referred to as “the recipe”. After raising her family. Barbara was elected as the West Shenango Township tax collector. A position she enjoyed and held for many years. A two-time cancer survivor, she had a prayer to live long enough to raise her children. Mission accomplished. Her love, optimism, strength, wit, humor and generosity of spirit will always be carried in the hearts and minds of her family.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the medical team and aides at Andover Village for the care and compassion shown to our Mom during her short stay. A Mother holds her children's hands for a while...... their hearts forever.

At the family's request there are no services planned at this time.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Randall Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 416 Liberty St., Jamestown.
