Barbara Heinemann

Barbara Ann Heinemann died Saturday, June 10, 2023 at St Paul’s Villas in Greenville, PA, following an extended illness. She was 87 years old.

Barbara was born December 8, 1935 in New Castle, PA, the daughter of the late Sally (Cutwright) and Ray Atkinson.

Barbara was a graduate of New Wilmington High School, PA in 1953. She married Joseph Wayne Heinemann on December 3, 1955, at the first Presbyterian Church in New Castle, PA. They resided in New Castle, PA and then later moved to West Middlesex, PA to raise four children. She went on to become a proud homemaker. In addition to raising her family, she worked at Bish’s Golden Dawn in West Middlesex, Pa.

Barbara's sense of humor and upbeat nature flowed through all her pursuits. She enjoyed fishing, embroidery, and crossword puzzles. Barbara enjoyed Wii bowling, reading and playing Scrabble, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Barbara was a compassionate and gentle person who loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Joseph Wayne Heinemann.

Survivors include her twin sister Janet Kelly and husband Marshall of Mesa, Arizona. Four children, a son, David Heinemann and his wife Jonel of Howland, Ohio, daughters Lori Walker and her husband, Steve of Sigel, PA, Sherry Schuster of Transfer, PA and Janet Conover and her husband Dale of New Hamburg, PA. She will be deeply missed by her nine grandchildren, Matthew (Amanda), Brandon (Jessica), Dustin (Jamie), Shawn, Kelly (Jabre), Troy, Adam, Scott and Melanie (Gary) and eleven great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, June 23, 2023 in Crossroads Christian Fellowship, 85 Vernon Rd., Greenville, with Rev. Todd Jaussen, Pastor of Crossroads Christian Fellowship, officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S.
