Betty Durney

Betty R. Durney, age 78, of Rocky Glen Rd., Adamsville passed away Wednesday evening, December 21, 2022 in UPMC Hamot, Erie.

She was born in New Bethlehem, PA on August 12, 1944 a daughter of Walter W. and Freda J. (Smith) Young. She was 1962 graduate of Red Bank Valley High School. On October 19, 1979 Betty married James R. Durney, he passed away December 7, 2021. She was employed at Garvin Industries, Adamsville for 32 years. She attended Adamsville Presbyterian Church and Atlantic Community Church. Betty enjoyed gardening and canning.

She is survived by a step daughter, Gayle Pack of Adamsville; two sisters, Nancy Patterson of Meadville, Catherine Reese of S. Bethlehem, PA; two brothers, Charles Young of New Bethlehem, John Young and his wife Sally of Mercer; a special niece, Candy Shaffer and her family; a special great niece, Emmy; many nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister Margie Marie Young.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 in the Chapel at Rocky Glen Cemetery, Adamsville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Youth Hunting Education Challenge, 1956 Mercer-Grove City Rd., Mercer, PA 16137. Arrangements have been entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Randall Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 416 Liberty St., Jamestown.
