He was born in Richmond, VA on January 22, 1942 to John B. and Myrtle E. (Tyler) Chenault. On March 26, 1962 he married the former Sally Stallard, and they would share the next 59 years together, she survives.

He was employed in outside industrial sales for thirty-eight years, working for Smith Courtney Co. and James McGraw Inc. After retirement, he was employed in sales for seven years with Red Wing Shoe Co.

Bill was an avid archery and turkey hunter, bass fisherman and follower of blue grass music. He also enjoyed watching sports and hunting shows and most of all he truly loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bill was a man of faith and dearly loved sharing his journey in life with all who would listen, even a complete stranger. He had personally experienced the saving grace of the Lord and drew on “God’s Promises” as his daily source of encouragement. Bill loved to mentor others, especially the young men God placed in his life. He served the church and especially enjoyed using his gift of music to bless the people in the Nursing Home Ministry. He was an active member of Bethel Life Worship Center.
